The Harold A. Steane Award for Mineral Processing Students
Harold A. Steane's enduring legacy continues through thegenerosity of a special Memorial Fund, which has beenestablished in his honor. This fund will provide lastingsupport to the next generations of mineral processingstudents.The Harold A. Steane Award, which is a $5,000 prize, will be offeredannually to a student entering either of the last two years of their mineralprocessing undergraduate program. Preference will be given to candidateswho demonstrate both a strong commitment to the mineral industry andexceptional ability in teamwork and collaboration.This award reflects Harold A. Steane's dedication to fostering talent andexcellence in the mineral industry and his trust in the next generation ofprofessionals.
The H. A. Steane Memorial Award is an existing scholarship that was offered to students from the University of British Columbia that has grown to become a national award which now accepts applications from students from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Queens University and McGill University.
